Being well prepared for your family photo session can make the difference between average and fabulous photos. Follow these easy tips and you’ll be well on your way to looking your absolute best. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us.

Some guidelines for how to dress for your family portrait

Avoid shirts with graphics or logos. These will distract from faces and expressions in a photo!

Don’t be afraid of color.

Dress kids in clothes that will be comfortable to THEM.

Avoid wearing white if at all possible. This draws attention to the white clothing instead of the most important part of the photo, YOU!

Coordinating the family is not as difficult as it sounds. Do not, under any circumstances, come dressed alike. This is not a team photo, it is a family portrait. Instead of doing the “matching” thing, do the “coordinating” thing.

Here is an example of a coordinating set of family outfits:

We have model representatives in various high schools around the Valley.  They help us get the word out about our studio and get some pretty great stuff in return, not least of which is this model session.  If you know one of our models, talk to them. They can get you $50 off your session fee.  If you are interested in being a model for next year, fill out this form.
